Centre for Development and Rehabilitation is a workcamp organization, organizing workcamps 6 to 8 times in a year. The workcamps will take place along with NGOs working for children, rural and tribal development. From May 2017 onwards we will have workcamps in places such as Tambaram ( Chennai ), Kanyakumari ( Kulithurai ), Trivandrum ( Neyyardam ) and The Nilgiris ( Gudalur / Pandalur ). For our workcamps there will be 12 to 14 European volunteers and 5 to 8 local volunteers will join and work for common cause. The work part will be organized with the help of the local NGO ( host organization ) The duration of the camp will be 12 days and in the mid of the camp a day will be free for the volunteers. We charge a registration fee of Euro 125. It can be paid upon arrival. The amount covers the living expenses of the volunteers such as simple vegetarian food, shelter ( camp type shared accommodation ) for the camp days.
We aim to:
* To promote international understanding through voluntary service
* To enable young people to encounter and understand different cultures
* To assist with community development
* To provide opportunities for the people to become aware of international issues.
Participants of CfDR are not tourists, but can expect to become involved with the community. Participation makes it possible to experience different areas of our culture readily accessible to foreigners so it is a unique way to meet local people.
CfDR provide a unique opportunity for people of different backgrounds to live, work and cooperate together. We welcome students, volunteers, couples who are interested to attend our work camps.
We look forward a long lasting cooperation with your esteemed organization by organizing workcamps. And if you need more details please feel free to ask.
With best wishes
